Horizons College, is part of the Uplands Educational Trust, a registered charity, which provides high quality learning, working and living opportunities for young people with special needs across Swindon and the surrounding areas. The College offers 4 programmes of study across two learning sites, Segal Centre in Stratton Road and Headlands Vocational Centre on Headlands Trading Estate.

Service summary

Horizons College, formerly UET College, is a specialist facility for young adults aged 19-25 who have severe or profound multiple learning difficulties and/or complex needs.

Further information

In order to meet the wide range of needs, our learners require a specialist provision including: purposely designed accommodation, access to a range of expert and multi-agency support such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists, visually and hearing impaired specialists amongst others.


Horizons College provides four learning pathways that are intended to extend learning beyond that provided in the pre-16 phase and moving progressively towards community participation and application of skills. In real terms this will mean learning to use local services and making a contribution to the local community either through voluntary or paid work.
