Preparing for Adulthood Transition Roadshow
An annual event for parents, carers and professionals who care for a young person with additional needs.
The term 'Transition' relates to young people with additional needs, who may need extra and sometimes specialist support to help them to prepare for adult life. Preparing for adulthood can start from around age 14, and will include thinking about good health, independent living, social life, family and friendships, and employment, education and training.
Service providers from a wide range of organisations will be available to give you information and answer your questions, along with Transitions leads from Swindon Borough Council, Great Western Hospital (GWH) and Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
The Preparing for Adulthood Transitions Roadshow took place on Wednesday 19th June 2019 at the Civic Offices, Swindon Borough Council, Euclid Street SN1 2JH. The date for the 2020 Roadshow will be published early in 2020.
