Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. 75% of all UK suicides are male and CALM exists to change this. They offer immediate support to guys who are down or in crisis, through their website and helpline and a range of advice on specific issues that lead to suicidal thoughts. Their helpline is free, anonymous and confidential and doesn’t show up on your bill. Open 5pm – midnight every day of the year. They also give advice about what to do if you are worried that someone you know may be feeling suicidal and you can also call their helpline of use their webchat service.


Papyrus provide confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPEFLINEUK.

They equip communities and volunteers in suicide prevention projects and deliver training programmes to individuals and groups. They aim to shape national policy and make a signification contribution to local and regional implementation of national suicide prevention strategies wherever we can.

Mental Health Foundation provide specific information on suicide including; risk and protective factors, as well as help and support on their website, They also have more general advice on mental health conditions and support which you might find helpful.
